about the run
Rainbow Run is a challenge event with a difference. More than just a standard 5k, Rainbow Run participants are showered with colour at every turn!
We are taking our Rainbow Run events to four locations in 2017, Swansea, Barry, Tredegar and Porthcawl. Entry is just £12 per person or £9 per person within a group entry (minimum team of five); you will need to be registered online in order to secure a space! Register here.
You will need to know your race number in order to take part; these will be sent to you in your confirmation email after your entry fee has been processed.
on the day...
Bring your race number to our check-in from 11.30am. You will need to be checked in before racing, please allocate enough time for this process prior to the run beginning.
The race begins at 1.30pm, there is no time keeper, so you can choose your own pace! It usually takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour to complete the course.
Please note that times for the rainbow run in Swansea are slightly different. Please check your fundraising pack for your allocated time.
After the run (when you are suitably covered in colour!) You will be directed to the goody bag collection area, where you will receive your special Rainbow Run gift.
Remember to wear a white t-shirt and sunglasses for the race.

Okay. You've taken part in an event, had bags of fun and raised lots of money, but your hard work is not over just yet. We need you to round up your £50 sponsorship money, complete the sponsor form and send it along with a cheque to the address below.
But wait! Before you proudly pack your sponsor form into an envelope, you need to ensure the following information is on your sponsor form:
- Your name, and if applicable, your race number (or equivalent) is written in the space provided on the sponsor form. Please write this information on any other correspondence you send us in relation to your sponsorship money.
- Gift aid it! When you're collecting your sponsorship, ask each person to tick the gift aid box (if eligible*). Please ensure each person supplies their home address, not their work address. By doing this we'll receive an extra 25p from every £1 you raise.
- If you are sending in sponsorship money in a group, please make a note on the form where the money should be allocated so that we can keep everyone's records up to date. This should also reduce the amount of emails/letters you receive from us chasing up sponsorship in the next few months.
Then return your completed sponsorship form with the cheque to:
Tŷ Hafan, Head Office, Hayes Road, Sully, Cardiff, CF64 5XX
Alternatively, you can pay your sponsorship money straight to Tŷ Hafan
HSBC or BACS payments
Bank account number: 01475932
Sort code: 40-16-18
Please put the code RR16 followed by the rainbow run location, i.e. RR16swansea
If you decide to send money this way, please send an email to email@example.com stating your name, the event, the branch you're paying into and the amount.* I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand the charity will reclaim 28p of tax on every £1 that I gave up to 5 April 2008 and will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give on or after 6 April 2008. This declaration also relates to all donations I have made to Tŷ Hafan in the past four years and all donations I make hereafter until I notify you otherwise.
To take part we ask each participant to aim to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship or make an equivalent donation upon registration. Under 16’s please aim to raise £20 in sponsorship.
Please note that your entry fee only helps to cover our event costs. By raising sponsorship or donating to Tŷ Hafan you will be helping to provide care and support for life-limited children, young people and their families helping them make the most of the time they have left together.
